Training at The Sir Henry Doulton School of Sculpture

Amanda started her career when she trained for 2 years at The Sir Henry Doulton School of Sculpture. The principle at the time was Colin Melbourne who created the life size sculpture of Stanley Matthews during the time Amanda was there. She remembers with fondness Stanley coming into the school and sitting for the sculpture.

Amanda was there for 2 years and trained along side David Goode, Mark Delph and Micheal Talbot.

Here she is discussing the moulding of a life size Border Collie with patron Dame Elizabeth Frink.

Amanda then went on to work as a trainee at the Royal Doulton Beswick factory, where she designed and sculpted over 100 pieces for the Royal Doulton, Beswick, Royal Albert brands.
